The Big Bang Theory Final Episode (S12E24) Review

Updated: Sep 12, 2019

*CONTAINS SPOILERS*

Never thought this show would end, I remember watching the first episode 12 years and fell in love with the show straight away.

This episode was a great way to say goodbye to these characters, it felt like a normal episode yet full of much more emotion as this is the last one.

We got to see Sheldon achieve is dream and get his Noble Prize with Amy. Sheldon's speech was incredibly emotional and shows how far he has come as a character. His original speech was all about himself and how he achieved his dream and got the prize he always wanted. Although he realises that he couldn’t have done it without his friends. This speech was sweet and made me cry as you felt that Sheldon has come so far and realises, he has great friends who have always supported and been there for him even when he didn’t consider their feelings.

Amy truly is a role model for more women to get into science. She has been a great addition to this family since her first appearance 9 years ago. Amy is a strong woman, who has gone through so much and come out the other side an even better person. She is smart and beautiful and once she got her makeover; she gained a new confidence that we hadn’t seen before. We now leave Amy as a strong, beautiful, confident and powerful women therefore a great inspiration for more women to get into science. Amy and Bernadette are amazing female characters who prove that women are just as good as men at science and that maybe more women should take up this profession.

Penny didn’t want children and Lenard did yet in this final ever episode we discover that Penny and Lenard are pregnant. We don’t get too much of a reaction about this news, but we get the impression that they are happy about this. We all know that Penny and Lenard will be great parents, they brought Sheldon up and helped him grow so if they can deal with Sheldon, I feel like they will be fantastic parents and I'm happy that they got what they wanted.

I feel kind of bad that Raj is still alone, however it is realistic as not everyone does find that someone to be with. However, I feel bad that Stuart can find someone, and Raj couldn’t. Raj has ended this final season the same way he started this show, single but at least he can now talk to women and took Buffy the Vampire Slayer to the Noble Prize ceremony.

The elevator working is a beautiful moment as we have been waiting years to see it working but it is hilarious that a group of intellectuals struggle to work out how to get all their suitcases and themselves in the elevator. It would have been funny if they caused it to break down by them struggling to all get in it but obviously that didn’t happen. It was bittersweet seeing the elevator work as it was an end of an era, we have been waiting so long for it to be fixed and now that it is fixed, we won’t see it in use again.

I think this is one of my all-time favourite episodes of The Big Bang Theory and it is sad that it is now over. This goodbye is just as difficult as when we had to say goodbye to the show Friends. This episode was a hilarious and heart-warming send-off to a great show, which I know will be missed by so many.

The Big Bang Theory taught us that friendship and love can be found in the most unexpected places. Along with this, The Big Bang Theory has shown the world that nerds are just as loveable as everyone else and just like everyone else.

This show will be missed by so many but never forgotten!
