Rick And Morty Season 6 Review

The sixth season of Adult Swim's Rick and Morty features all the humour, character development, parodies of classic sci-fi ideas, and references to audience favourites that any fan could desire.

Prior to the Season 6 debut, showrunner Scott Marder first disclosed intentions to release a new season of Rick and Morty every year. Anyone can be concerned that production might become a money-making machine that produces a product rather than high-quality entertainment as a result. However, there is no reason to worry here. The sixth season of Rick and Morty definitely doesn't disappoint.

The human tale of the Sanchez family is the most captivating component of the show. Despite the fact that it can be incredibly intelligent and hilarious. Along with the jokes and witticisms, this season offers a tonne of story development. Which a lot of shows with similar premises neglect to carry through.

Where Season 5 left off, Season 6's ‘Solaricks' continues with Rick (Justin Roiland) and Morty (also Roiland) attempting to resolve the issues brought on by the destruction of the Citadel of Ricks. Additionally, we get to meet Mr. Frundles, a cute new creature. It’s nice that the story from the previous season is continued, as it could have easily been forgotten.

The conflicts between the characters are still as intense and ridiculous as ever. At each point in the season, each character in the family has their own crisis. Whether that is Jerry (Chris Parnell), Beth (Sarah Chalke), Rick, Morty, or Summer. Summer has really grown into the role of Grandpa's Most Reliable Grandchild and, as a result, she is rewarded with Wolverine claws in this season as well.

The quality of the animation hasn't changed in the least. Brightly coloured aliens, blazing lazers, pouring interdimensional muck, and general weirdness is still in abundance. There were a lot of hilarious moments, but there were also a lot of heartfelt parts that may bring a tear to your eye. Which is something you may not expect from a cartoon. However, after six seasons, it is obvious how far this show has progressed.

Season 6 of Rick and Morty is not a good place to start if you haven't been watching up to this point. There is an overall plot to follow in Rick and Morty, unlike shows like The Simpsons or Family Guy where you can immediately walk in. The programme has advanced to the point that there is a persistent core plot that spans seasons.

If you are unfamiliar with sci-fi jargon, this plot can be very complex. Even if you have seen every episode up to this point, it may be a good idea to watch the Season 5 finale just before Season 6 to make sure your memory has been refreshed.

Overall, this is another strong season. Full of crazy adventures, and laughs, with more emotional moments that may take you by surprise. If you haven’t already, you should definitely watch this sixth season!
