Ghosts Season 4 Review

Ghosts are back for another season of laughs and compelling stories. Every episode is so different and yet, the season as a whole work really well together. We said goodbye to friends and hello to new ghosts.

The new batch of episodes finds Alison and Mike actually opening their long-awaited B&B in the gatehouse at Button House. They are committed to giving their visitors a five-star experience. While Alison and Mike are rushed off their feet catering to the requests of their guests, the motley crew of Ghosts who haunt Button House confront their own issues as an unforeseen situation threatens to change their lives/deaths forever.

We have to deal with Thomas becoming famous and all the plague victims want a painting of him. It’s also nice that we get to spend more time with the plague victims, in this season as well. There seem to be so many plague victims I do wonder what stories they could tell. We know what caused their death, yet there is a whole village. Surely, there is more to them than what we have seen. Although, with that being said, they are scene stealers when they appear in any episode.

While also a spotlight is put on death and grief in episode 4. This episode is a true highlight of the series overall. As it was unexpected and handled amazingly. Even though the ghosts are dead, they still all struggle when someone else leaves them. It shows how much of a tight-knit group of friends the ghosts have become. We are left with a hole now one of the ghosts has left us and yet their send-off is beautiful.

There are a lot of moments throughout this season that are quite humorous. It's still amazing how wise Robin is considering he is just a caveman. Speaking of Robin, it was nice to see more of his backstory. It's great that each ghost has such an extensive past and we get to have a deeper insight into their previous lives each season.

There's not much not to like in this season. The writing continues to be strong and the stories are still funny and compelling. However, we do end this season on a huge cliffhanger. I hope we come to Button House a few more times. It feels as if there are still quite a lot of stories left to tell. It would also be nice if Alison and Mike could get their life together. However, I’m not sure what else Alison and Mike could do.
