Farzar Season 1 (2022) Review

Farzar, an insane, hilarious, bizarre, animated comedy series, with entertaining characters has just been made available on Netflix.

This series is entertaining and simple to binge watch with ten episodes that last 30 minutes each. No joke is too far for the authors of Brickleberry and Paradise PD, Roger Black and Waco O'Guin, who are once again demonstrating their willingness to cross lines for the sake of humour.

Adult content animation has seen a tremendous rise recently and is obviously here to stay as more and more series are making their way to our screens. All audiences watch a series like this because the comic gags that address contemporary social themes really connect with older audiences while also having the potential to educate and inform younger audiences.

Will it become too repetitive and stale despite the abundance of jokes and vulgarities to make fun of? Perhaps, but this series has a clean yet gritty vibe to it, and the sci-fi and 80s parodies give it the edge that this sort of crazy content needs.

In order to keep the throne and defend his planet, egotistical human warrior Renzo married his much older wife. Renzo had previously defended his world from invasion. The goal of his strategy is to vanquish the wicked Bazarack. While he is attractive and powerful, Prince Fichael is more awkward and dumb.

In order to show his father that he is capable of holding a true general's position at the age of thirty, Prince Fichael gathers his "S.H.A.T." crew and leaves the walls to bring back Bazaracks' head. This obviously does not happen as expected. The entire series is devoted to tracking their crazy actions as they compete against one another in absurd storylines.

Now, this show is much more than just cartoons jerking off on television and sex jokes (a lot). It does, in reality, address a variety of social themes, including capitalism, colonialism, and class conflict. They represent more than simply the explicit humour on the screen, giving this series a depth that has been lacking in more recent shows.

This series is brought to life with the excellent voice acting of a wide range of amazing, recognisable voice actors, such as Lande Reddick (The Wire), David Kaye (The Eternals), Jerry Minor (Brickleberry), Grey DeLisle (The Simpsons), and many more.

Even though some of these characters are quite identical to those from other animated series, the humour and chemistry are unaffected. It works when it's written well. I am looking forward to any upcoming seasons that this show could potentially have.

Overall, this show is a lot of fun to watch. It's a combination of crude, bizarre, with a complex story that is well thought through. If you are a fan of Big Mouth, Rick And Morty or Paradise PD, you are going to enjoy Farzar.

Farzar Season 1 is now streaming on Netflix.
